Samantha Sander’s Photography Projects
Photography has always been about more than simply documenting what’s in front of me. I’m drawn to the details, light, movement, and genuine moments that give an image its story. This collection includes client work, personal projects, portraits, events, and travel photography; showcasing both the technical and creative approach I bring behind the camera.
A self-directed maternity portrait from my 2026 family session, photographed using only a tripod and camera timer. At nine months pregnant, I planned the composition, posed the entire family, and captured the session myself; combining technical preparation with creative direction from both sides of the camera.
A photograph of the 2024 lunar eclipse, captured using an older camera body and an inexpensive lens. Despite the limited equipment, the image preserves surprising detail in the moon’s surface and atmosphere, highlighting the value of technique, timing, and creative problem-solving over gear alone.
A personal photography study of bokeh featuring a swing ride at Silver Dollar City, using intentional blur and glowing lights to turn motion into an abstract composition. This image received the Best Photo award in my college photography class in 2017.
A landscape photograph of the Grand Canyon captured during a personal trip in 2015. The image focuses on the canyon’s layered depth, dramatic shadows, and warm light breaking across the rock formations, highlighting the scale and natural texture of the landscape.
